I have had the pleasure of listening to Michael Stein's speech on blast 
injuries during the recent ESS meeting on Cyprus. If I got him right, 
the victim's chance of survival with or without tourniquet would not 
differ. It is close to zero.

Hopefully I won't have to recall that next time I am in South Africa..
