I was a police officer prior to going to medical school (where did I go wrong??!!):

How would you describe the body habitus of the alleged (I'll try to give him due course) shooter?

I have seen thin, long armed or very flexible cuffed prisoners bring their arms beneath their buttocks and around the ankles.  I've seen it more than once...and, yes, in the seated position.

As for the gun: well, obviously wasn't patted down well...huh?  Too bad.  That's a sad story.  Reinforces what we know: there is no such thing as a "routine" traffic stop.
