ATLS 8th Edition - updates / suggestions

John Kortbeek (Chair ATLS Subcommittee, ACS COT) has asked to post the
following to the list regarding suggestions for changes / updates to the
next edition of the ATLS manual. Replies to the list for discussion or to
atls at trauma.org. Note you *must* change the subject of the email to reflect
which section of the ATLS manual you are referring to (see instructions
below).
The wheat of discussions will be separated from the chaff and forwarded to
John and thence to the ATLS subcommittee. John is a member of the
trauma-list. Attached is a Word document containing the levels of evidence.

ATLSR Revisions - 8th edition.
The American College of Surgeon's Committee on Trauma (COT) is currently
engaged in the revision process for the 8th edition of the ATLSR provider
course. The COT welcomes submissions for consideration in the revision
process. Instructions for submissions are as follows:
1. Title the submission ATLSR and Identify Chapter &/or Skills station
2. Summarize proposed content change/revision.
3. Provide supporting reference(s)
4. Categorize level of supporting evidence.
Deadline for submissions is Nov 15, 2006.

Access for submissions will also be available through the American College
of Surgeon's web portal by late October.
