Dr. Ryon:
I am very very impressed with what you in the NE states are doing with
disaster preparedness. I have heard good things about your state. I did visit
the Disaster planning and programs for Connecticut. I am so very impressed
with their program. They already had a fantastic state wide trauma network
and have build the disaster network on top of the trauma network, using those
who are in the Trauma EOCs at the hospital to be members of the states
regional EOCs. Connecticut is one of the very few states to have done that. I
understand that NH is also modeling their program after Connecticut. You
also might want to be aware of the many great things in planning and funding
that are being developed and pushed by the National Foundation for Trauma
Care. I trust that your hospital is a member of the National Foundation.
They have a fantastic packet to assist you in applying for such grant support.
