Ken,
I agree completely, and no, I do NOT know the hospital.
I just sent a post with a few issues that I discussed - and I am curious if they are the same as you refer to.

K,
Not only does this hospital advertise on their website that they are
building a $63 million expansion, but they also are proud to boast that they have a
"Heart and Lung Center"....have the "Cardiac Surgeon of the Year"...have a
64-slice CT scanner ....and a newly appointed Bariatric Program.

This hospital, I have found on the internet. I now know its name. Yes,
it is a 203 bed facility, but it does have a blood bank. It does have a
very very expensive NEW CT scanner, and it does have persons who know how to
stop bleeding. They do call surgical and cardiology teams into the hospital
in the middle of the night when needed. This hospital did not give this 33
year old bike/van accident victim the best that Massachusetts, Texas,
California, NYC, etc,. etc. can give. The SIMPLE approaches to this man's care
have been published repeatedly in their journal - NEJM. I even have an
article published there outlining care for this kind of patient. Do they ever
read their own journals. In the course of the few discussion points, I
have counted no fewer than 6 issues which should bring on a STATE HEALTH
DEPARTMENT, or a JCAHO unannounced review beginning TOMORROW. If this hospital is
receiving CMS funding, (AND I NOW KNOW THAT THEY DO), then all current and
future funding to the hospital and its medical staff should be put on hold
until there is a full investigation to the 6 or more issues which resulted in
this preventable death.
