crush injury

A crush injury would develop more from being trapped under a car, or heavier object for a prolonged period of time. I wouldnt assume that being beating with a belt would cause a crush injury for obvious reasons. This may be a bad question, would an increase in potassium also be an indicator of a crush injury, secondary from the rabdo? I was reading the other posts, is the the thought behind the Lasix?
