I wanted to thank everyone for their advice. It went pretty well overall. I took the "hit 'em with pictures of local and national victims of violence and then discuss conflict resolution" path. No one fell asleep and I made it out alive; more than that the deponent sayeth not.
Thanks again,

Hi Dr. Bromberg-
I've used a couple of different programs in our area (with only some results, I'm sorry to say), but I think they might be helpful.
The first one we used was in conjunction with the local police depts.
Who gave out gun locks. It was the C.A.R.G.O. (Communities Advocating Responsible Gun Ownership) program.
The other one was originally developed by the Center to Prevent Handgun Violence, which had a video entitled "Justice is Done" (Justice was the name of a young man (about 16 y/o) who eventually was killed in the
video.)
Personally, I think using real pictures and real people (victims of hand-gun violence willing to talk about what happened) is the most effective.
Good luck, and I'd be interested to know what you finally put together and how it went. God knows we can use ALL the help we can get trying to get the message out there!

Subject: I need HELP - Gun Safety Presentation
Hey everyone, I need some advice. As the most junior guy not working this week I "volunteered" to give a presentation on Firearm Safety to a local high school assembly of juniors and seniors (16-18 years old). The school is in "inner-city" Savannah (I can hear Dr Mattox laughing already about inner city Savannah).
Here's my problem - I don't know where to go with the presentation.
Furthermore the kids are too old for the "Eddie the Eagle" type presentation - i.e.
STOP!
Don't Touch
Leave the Area
Tell an Adult
And the type of gun injury they are exposed to is not of the "whoops I didn't know it was loaded" failure to follow the four rules of safety (i.e. 1. Treat ALL guns as if they are loaded. 2. Always keep a firearm pointed in a safe direction. 3. Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot. 4. Be sure of your target. Know what it is, what is in line with it and what is behind it. ) type.
Does anyone have any suggestions/experience with anything like this?
Thanks in advance for your help. I have the awful feeling they're going to eat me alive.
