Ken,

Although unusual it is not the "compliment" that is notable :-).

 In the run up to war the right maintained that  facts of history were insignificant to the situation. The israeli palestinian conflict had no bearing and if cited they were used as a reason to go to war. Now that the US objectives have been soundly defeated and any kind of exit consisdered a victory, these  previously ignored facts become the excuse for failure. The blame becomes the Iraqi society´s failure to embrace the heroic invaders and not the incompetent fools who sent them there.
