bleeding to death, or my brain has a bad boo-boo, and you have to drive 20

30 or 40 minutes longer to get me or them to a TRAUMA CENTER, then please
do
so. Obviously, you should interpret this as WAIT for the helicopter
on-scene
if it gets me or them to a TRAUMA CENTER sooner than to a community
hospital. Heck, stick me in the back of a BLS ambulance with an EMT and
drive a
half-hour past the community hospital to get me to a trauma center,
particularly
if my brain has an owie.
For urban and suburban areas helicopter transport actually takes LONGER on
average than ground ambulance transport.
