Just right!
Non-absorbable suture to heart injuries but in the definitive role.
I was stressed that in emergency thoracotomy, i.e., just performed in few minutes in ED department in the very
first initial assessment, when you identify an perforation injury to the heart the chromic is very
usefull because you have very nice semi-circular needle (at about 3 cm) that help you to control hemorrhage
site applying a cross suture easier. After that you can stabilize the patient
and finally place a definitive suture in operation room with optimal conditon.
I woul like to remind the readers how difficult could be to place a posterior myocardium sutute with the heart
movement in an emergency department thoracotomy with a non absorbable suture with a little needle...
