Incredible to realize that we need a "law" to apologize for mistakes made by one human trying sincerely to look after another!! SAD indeed.

Subject: "doctors say they need protection to apologize"

Hi all,

I'm not sure if anyone has seen this article that was posted in the Boston Globe a few days ago. It has to do with Massachusetts passing a law, that would make it ok for a physician to say sorry for a medical mistake.

My question is, should this law encompass all of the medical community I.E., pharmacists, nurses, paramedics? Also, dose anyone know of any states that allow practitioners to say I'm sorry to patients for medical mistakes?

Thanks,

Anthony M Caruso EMT-P
