Green Book CME Requirements

Anybody out there struggling with the new CME requirements for trauma
center verification? I was late to realize that ALL physicians and
surgeons on call for trauma (including EM, ortho, neurosurgeons) are
required to have an average of 16 hours of trauma CME, or to
"participate in an internal education process conducted by the trauma
program based on the principles of practice-based learning..." This
used to be required only of service representatives to the PI Committee.
I assume that the expansion might be problematic for non-academic Level
II's like my hospital.

I expect (okay, HOPE) that we'll get by by amplifying our "internal
education process," which includes PI activities, case-based grand
rounds, newsletters, journal clubs, just-in-time teaching, and the like;
but I wonder if anyone has actually faced these criteria during
verification, and if there are any model programs out there.

Thanks for any info or advice. And I'd be grateful if some of you might
throw in a whine or a grumble to make me feel less lonely.
