i am not a fan of temporary filters but if you cannot anticoagulate, this might be useful. The temporary filter is small and soft so should mold to a small ivc.
but i think in a small girl, getting it out will allow normal growth of the ivc

Subject: IVCF in pediatrics
We currently have a 14 year old patient with an extensive cerebral bleed and
a complex pelvic fracture. How would you handle DVT prophylaxis? Do any of
you have experience in using IVC filters in pediatric patients? She's a
small 14 year old.
Thanks in advance.
