We would need to know what the "hot" spicy fluid is made of to suggest treatment - you may want to immerse the baby in cool water running over the wounds to dilute the chemical if it is an irritant. More information would help. If sats are >92% oxygen tent would not really be useful.

With more information about the substance we could advise you better about the information for the parents.

Subject: A 6m/o baby suffering from spicy fluid spreading

Dear all experienced memebers:

as title ,
The whole story is there were 2 children ; 5 y/o girl, 6 m/o baby
this 5 y/o girl fool round all the house ,found a thing like a grasping material .
Then Some orange hot fluid were spreading from the "self-protecting tool ",directly spreaded to the some baby because of a innocent shoot . ALL persons were crazy in the following time, included me, ED physician , all ED nurses and their parents. I'd examined the sick baby
  PAT:           alert,crying , irritable .
Airway:       some nasal discharge from his nose.
All the face and neck :reddish , hot, not swelling .
Of course , I couldn't check his pharynx and oral cavity , because of irritable .
Breathing    NO stridor , no wheezing.

I had tried a hot shot toward my hand at that time.Very hot and burning sensation.
  My question is :
   1. Is O2 tent with cold humidified oxygen enough for managing the sick baby?
   2. How to manage the prolong hot sensation, irritating the sick bay?
   3. How to explain the whole managing course to his worried, hysteria parents ,although
the baby cried all the time?

   Thanks for your recommendation!!
