The new revised edition of ATLS is now available. It has considerable
differences from the last edition. I do believe that everyone on this list and
those who teach ATLS will be happy that ATLS is now contemporary and cutting
edge. The manual is more like a textbook.

Until now that was the recommendation - but recently the ATLS had been
reviewed with the help of this list, no less, and the attached document
will highlight the planned changes in the next edition. Most of us here
feel this is a good adaptation to new evidence.
See the pdf of the J Trauma article.

hello all,
as a long time lurker do allow me to put a simple question -
does ATLS really recommend giving 2 l of crystalloid to all trauma
patients with a lowish blood pressure, let's say, 80mmHg, pulse
100/min,
awake, no head injury, warm, but suspected internal injury?
thanks,
