Nursing colleagues and friends thereof:
Here's an opportunity to celebrate our models and mentors. Please take
a moment to consider where we'd be without the likes of Barbara Bennett
Jacobs, Jorie Klein, Sue Sheehy, and the countless others who so proudly
define the profession. The nominees are not restricted to nursing; but
since it's an STN award, it seems fitting to lobby for nurses.

On an annual basis, Society of Trauma Nurses recognizes an outstanding
leader who has contributed to the field of trauma. We need your help!
Please take a few minutes to nominate the person you think should
receive the 2009 award.
Past awardees:
2007 Ellen J. MacKenzie, PhD
2008 Patricia McDougall, RN
The STN Leadership Award
Respond Quickly - Nominations Due Friday, September 12:
Definition: An individual, in the medical or non-medical field,
who has demonstrated outstanding leadership in trauma through practice,
research, publication, education, patient advocacy, injury prevention,
trauma system development or legislative involvement during his or her
career at a local, state or national level.
The following are not eligible for nomination:
* Any current member of the STN Board of Directors.
* Any individual who has served on the STN Board of Directors
within the last year.
* Any award winner who has been recognized within the last three
years.
Award Timeline:
Nominations from the Membership Due: September 12, 2008
Awards Committee Selection: September 19, 2008
Board of Directors Endorsing Vote: September 22, 2008
Recipient Notification: by October 6, 2008
The award is presented during STN's Annual Conference which will be held
April 8-10, 2009, at the Sheraton Downtown Phoenix Hotel in Phoenix,
Arizona.
